FEARLESS HEART…🖤

Everything about our way of living has changed… we have changed!!

I remember someone mention to me a year ago that 2020 would amaze… grand dreams would turn to reality.

Well, what have we come to? Nothing! People have lost their jobs… some of their lives and we just sit at home… at one corner, not knowing what life offers us anymore.

They call it Corona… but I call it a ‘dark phase.’ A phase in which people can’t see the end to anything really, a phase in which we fear if we could ever find brightness again. We all live with such fear of tomorrow, not wanting to come out, but to shut ourselves away from everybody around us.

Truth is, we all long for that shoulder to lie on, expect the unexpected, wish for a better day…. but we don’t realize that the person sitting next to us longs for that from us too!!

This isn’t right!! This self-centered attitude that we carry around with us, isn’t right… What would u get out of being this way?? But who cares? Who is listening? Everyone is busy saving their skin!! Saving your skin, yes you should…. but not at the cost of putting others in danger, or not wanting to let yourself believe that there are others around who need you in this dark hour, need your help.

It’s not like us to sit down, not caring, not wanting to live life. Rather, I say we get up, start looking on the brighter side, and following the path of humbleness, humanity, and a bit of gratitude.

Life is a much better place when we accept the challenges put before us… and working towards making this place beautiful for both us and others around us.

I know that was a lot…to take in…in one shot..!! But I hope it brings out some amount of goodness in you.

Hope you guys have a great day…

Happy Friday!!❤️

DIFFERENT YET TEMPTING!!

28th May 2020

And the quarantine continues!

Today started early for me, like every other day. I’m in charge of cooking for my family, which is not at all simple work, I just realized. We keep planning what to make the day before, well mum and I that is.

Today intended to be a “simple breakfast” but…..turned out to be not at all simple!

I intended to kneed dough for making chapattis, but it became quite hard and it forced us to make pooris instead…. but I love pooris, who doesn’t?

All of you might have thought pooris go well with potatoes or Channa masala, but…. we had it with bhindi masala. That’s where we differ, we eat pooris with almost anything (we aren’t people from the lost world, let me tell you. Just people who love trying new dishes and new combinations of food.)

Let me tell u briefly how I made bhindi masala.

I sauteed the bhindi in onion paste and tomato puree. It tasted very good.

The pooris had a fantastic flavor because of the cumin seeds and Kasuri methi I added to the dough.

We have just finished our breakfast and cooked rice for lunch with some Dal (we usually have brunch every day, so we are used to making everything in the morning.)

The night’s dinner has yet to be planned.

Today’s tip: You can add cumin seeds or Kasuri methi to the dough or both to enhance its flavor.

P.S. Bhindi tastes great with poori.

Until tomorrow, with more dishes coming up.

Take care, and hope you guys have a great Thursday!

THE JOURNEY OF COOKING!!

Cooking has always been a part of my life. Right from the time, my mum used to make me sit on a high raised chair in the kitchen while she cooked in such style and grace. Her cooking changed my life, so much so that it became my profession.

I always loved to cook and to learn new things every day. I still remember the first dish my mother taught me to make, “brinjal curry.”

I remember I used to sneak in the kitchen and gobble up the brinjal after she had made it, not being able to wait to be served. She taught me so much that I fell in love with the thought of going to the kitchen and trying out something new every time I had the chance to do so.

I had little luck perusing it at first because they sent me away to a residential school pretty much my whole high school period.

My college times were amazing, I joined college and learned a lot and not to forget; I joined a hotel management college to continue to learn to cook and become a chef. Well, I am still learning, and now I know maybe I will top in baking.

Wanting to make something new every day is not just an interest but a passion that I have gained.

Even if one day I leave cooking, I’m sure cooking will never leave me.

Now I should get back to making lunch for my family, I wouldn’t want to keep them waiting.

Well, maybe I forgot to mention this quarantine has made me a full-fledged cooking expert. I cook day and night, not to mention the new stuff I learn every day. Thanks to YouTube and Google and above all my mum.

Tomorrow I might come back with more of what I’ve learned.

Maybe a new recipe every day would do the trick.

Until then, bye!!.🙂
